A Publication on Contemporary Asian Landscape Architecture: Call for Landscape Projects
Now accepting project submissions until 30 May 2019.
Call for projects
We invite designers to submit projects for consideration in a new book on contemporary landscape architecture across Asia. We are looking for inspiring and provocative work that can be either built and unbuilt or speculative (e.g. competition entries, masterplans or strategic projects). Projects must be designed after 2000 and show an innovative design approach which advances knowledge in on of the following areas: materiality (including living system); design processes; procurement or impact.
Story of the book
This edited book aims to provide the first comprehensive overview and discussion of contemporary landscape architecture practice in Asia. In January 2019, 24 designers and academics from across the Asian region gathered in Beijing to discuss the ideas and frameworks of a contemporary Asian landscape architecture practice. The workshop formed an important step in developing this book proposal. This unprecedented gathering crossed generations and geographies, including leading voices from China, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore (e.g. Z+T, Design & Hope, SHMA, PARKKIM, Salad Dressing among others). As editors of the book, we have now transformed this discussion into a compelling structure that dynamically interweaves theory and design projects to present Asian design knowledge of regional and global significance.
How to submit your work
Using the simple online submissions portal, you will be asked to respond to several questions to identify the contribution of your work. Based on your submissions, we will select the best range of projects for the book. The deadline for project submissions is 30 May 2019.
